FENG SHUI CENTRE

BINGS FENG SHUI CENTRE was the first specialist retail store in Australia
to provide both Feng Shui consultation services and product supply. Originally situated in Queanbeyan NSW, the store relocated to Mawson in the Australian Capital Territory, eventually closing to allow a more personal interaction with clients. The Centre was founded by Norm Bodkin and Ng Wai Bing.

Ng Wai Bing was born in Macau and moved to Hong Kong when only 12 years old. As a native Chinese she was virtually raised on Feng Shui, her parents both traditionalists in the true sense. She became an Australian citizen shortly after arriving in 1975. She met Norm in Canberra and introduced him to the finer points of the art as well as some of the people involved in Hong Kong, during their journeys.

Norm Bodkin was born in the Year of the Metal Dragon and is well known as a musician, featured on over 400 record albums. As the Training Manager for St John Ambulance in Canberra (the National Capital of Australia), he met and married Ng Wai Bing, subsequently embracing studies on the art of Feng Shui whilst in Hong Kong. One result of his work is the book ‘Lucky Objects’. Sadly, Norm passed away in September 1999. However, Bing has continued the good work and has revised the original edition of 'Lucky Objects' with new updated direction charts in 2003, so look out for the revised edition with the red cover which is available in most book shops or through us.

After many fruitless searches for products in Australia, the Centre was created. Some of the special charms and placements sold there are hand crafted by Bing according to the needs of the clients. Many of the special Feng Shui items are specially imported, and their Hong Kong agent keeps them informed on annual countercharms for their Chinese Horoscope clientele.

Hundreds of homes and businesses within the region have benefited from the careful and studied approach to traditional Feng Shui practised by the couple, and their travels overseas have resulted in successful assessments in Canada, Hong Kong and Hawaii. In March 1998 Self Assessment courses for the public were commenced and an adjoining store was leased to cope with the large range of products. Over the last 18 months they have regularly travelled to other States conducting courses and consultations in response to the growing popularity of the art.

Most of the trading is conducted online or via appointment and Bing is now concentrating her time in specialising  consultations for home and businesses.
